If you have never taken a course on macrobiotics or read the Complete Macrobiotic Diet book, we strongly recommend that you first get a basic introduction to the SHI approach to macrobiotics through our Introductory Macrobiotic Course prior to taking this Beginner Course.
You should already have a grasp on things like creating a healthy diet plan based on a foundation of vegetable, grain, and fruit-based items. You should have already explored the development, history and implementation of modern dietary methods including, but not limited to, American, European, Japanese, and Mediterranean eating habits.
You should also know that the Beginner Macrobiotic Course is a prerequisite for taking the Advanced Macrobiotic Course — which results in macrobiotic counselor certification for common, non-life threatening health problems.
The SHI beginner macrobiotic course has been prepared by the team here at SHI Macrobiotics with you in mind and it is unlike any other. The course material is made up of literally decades of empirical research and training to offer you the highest quality, most inclusive content on macrobiotics ever!
Denny & Susan Waxman have organized these courses by combining experience in practicing macrobiotics, counseling others, and a macrobiotic cooking school – preparing some of the healthiest, most delicious macrobiotic dishes. You will come away with the ability to prepare some of the primary staples of a macrobiotic diet.
Also, this beginner course has already helped hundreds of people get back in touch with their bodies — and the world around them. Please join us and start doing so yourself!
